What is Ottocast CloudSim?
Ottocast CloudSIM is an innovative internet connectivity solution available exclusively for the Ottocast AI Box series, including models like P3 and P3 Lite. It enables seamless mobile data access for in-car internet use, eliminating the need for traditional SIM cards. With CloudSIM, users can choose flexible data plans that best fit their needs, whether for short drives or extended travel. It supports both new and upgraded devices via a firmware over-the-air (FOTA) update, thus making it a seamless means of staying connected on the go.
Advantages of CloudSIM
Automatic Carrier Selection:
CloudSIM automatically connects to the best available network based on location, ensuring reliable internet access. For example, in an urban setting like New York City, it will connect to the strongest signals from Verizon or AT&T. In rural locations, it will switch to carriers like T-Mobile or US Cellular to maintain a strong connection.
Convenient Operation:
No identity verification or visits to the store are required. Users can easily manage their data plans and make purchases directly through the OttoPilot or Whey Insight apps on their smartphones.
Cost-Effective:
CloudSIM provides data plans at competitive prices. In comparison to traditional carriers, this makes it a cost-effective option without compromising internet quality or reliability.
Cloudsim Usage Process
CloudSIM is managed through the Simate application, an in-car application that enables users to check data usage, swap between physical and virtual SIM cards, and carry out other necessary operations.
Simate 1GB+5GB Product Process
Initial Activation: Users are prompted to claim 1GB of free data once the device is powered on. The data is active for 7 days.
Bind the Device: If the data gets depleted, users are prompted to bind the device via the OttoPilot app. That opens another 5GB of free data, active for 30 days.
If users need more data, they can recharge easily through the Simate app or the OttoPilot app.
Extra Data Plans
Enjoy free data with your Ottocast AI Box! For more, you can choose between two flexible data plans tailored to your needs.
120GB per Year Plan
This plan provides 120GB of data, distributed over 12 months, with a supply of 10GB every month. It is suited for users who need a constant and consistent supply of data throughout the year.
30GB for 90 Days Plan
For a user who wants extra data over 3 months, it is suitable for this user who may require high data volumes for a short period.
Why is CloudSIM better than a physical SIM card?
Effortless Convenience
Unlike the traditional SIM card that must be handled, registered, and set up, Cloud SIM seamlessly interfaces with the Ottocast AI Box. It doesn’t need visits to stores or cards inserted; it’s completely digital. Users can activate, manage, and recharge plans from apps like OttoPilot with no hassle.
Seamless and Reliable Connectivity
The strong and most reliable network near your location is automatically picked to offer the service uninterrupted. This advantage is quite significant over SIMs. Locked to one carrier, such SIMs often struggle at some spots with poor coverage. No matter if it’s an urban center or remote area, Cloud SIM automatically changes and modifies for optimum performance.
Flexible Data Management
With CloudSIM, you select a data plan to use your choice of data and keep tracking from special apps. That brings immediate alerts on available data running low, so they always remain connected without any nasty shocks. This flexibility ensures that control of the internet remains. If you are required to surf only for short periods or you have opted in for a long-term subscription to use the internet.
Enhanced In-Car Internet Experience
It’s one of the exclusive features that CloudSIM will provide as a feature for the Ottocast AI Box to enable reliable internet connectivity within your vehicle. That means online services such as CarPlay and connected apps would work perfectly without disruptions.
Purchasing Data plans
The data plan can be easily purchased through the OttoPilot or application. Discounts are available for data plans when purchased along with compatible Ottocast devices. The system allows for the use of the older plans before newly purchased plans for smooth management.
Package Validity Period
Your data plan is activated by usage, and the validity is dependent on the purchased duration. For example, 10GB is valid for 30 days. Once the data is consumed before the expiry date, the plan is over, and a new package needs to be purchased. Data usage and remaining time can be monitored through the SIMate app or companion apps like OttoPilot.
Applicable Regions
CloudSIM services are available in various countries, such as Japan, the United States, and across Europe, like France, Germany, the UK, and many others. Data plans are available for purchase only in the country where you buy them and do not allow international roaming.

FAQ
What happens if the P3 LITE product breaks up after 6 months of using it? How should its remaining data be treated in cases of return or exchange?
Answer: If the P3 LITE product breaks after 6 months, our after-sales service will reset the card using its IMEI number. The remaining data will be cleared, and it will be treated as new for future use.
Has anyone checked the internet speed? Specifically, if the YouTube video is displayed at 720p on the car display, what is the internet speed? How is the internet speed?
Answer: The Internet speed is just like the ordinary 4G SIM, uploading at a speed of 50 Mbps and 300 Mbps for downloading. However, the actual download speed depends on the signal, mostly at around 3 MB to 4 MB per second.
Where will the 120GB sticker be placed on the product and packaging box?
Answer: On the product side, it has the 120GB sticker; however, on the packaging box, it is located in the upper right corner.
Does the 10GB monthly data allocation refer to a calendar month, or is it based on one month from the time of activation? For example, if the customer activates the service in late November, is the 10GB valid through November?
The 10GB valid period is a month, not a calendar month. Therefore, if activated on November 28, then it is valid until December 28. The data cycle renews upon the update for 12 months from the activation date.
Will there be a prompt when the 10GB monthly data is almost exhausted, reminding the user? And will there be a subsequent prompt asking users to click the bottom right corner to recharge and buy more data packages?
Answer: The 10GB data will show on the in-car display and prompt users to the app when the data is nearly all used up. The QR code scanned in the app will enable easy data buying.
If the user does not use data for a certain period (for example, not using the device for a long time), can they pause or stop the data plan? If so, how do they operate it?
Answer: No, the data plan is neither transferable nor portable to the next month; users need to purchase it again if they want to use it.
When the monthly 10GB data is about to run out, for example, if there is less than 1GB left, will there be speed limits?
Answer: No, there are no speed limits when you have less than 1 GB of data remaining. The service will continue at full speed until the data is fully used up.
Is the data service available throughout Japan, from Hokkaido to Nagasaki? Or how is the signal of this cloud SIM card in rural areas with poor signal?
Answer: Yes, that’s where CloudSIM would work well all over Japan, from Hokkaido to Nagasaki, using signals from multi-net operators. Though its coverage includes the whole country, its connectivity might be interfered with by rural areas due to weak signals since it relies on the local operator’s coverage.
Current Availability: CloudSIM with Simate 2.0 is not limited to Japan but also available in the United States and across Europe, including Belgium, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, France, the UK, Greece, Italy, Poland, Sweden, and Turkey, thereby covering a vast area for users in these regions as well.
Can the actions of the end user, such as programming or writing a bug, influence the remaining data on the product? Or is it not possible for the user to modify or control the remaining data, regardless of what action they take?
Answer: No, the remaining data cannot be changed by the user. The system is secure, and users cannot change or control their usage of data regardless of their actions.
After resetting or programming the product, will the remaining traffic be affected? Will FOTA upgrades or programming consume CloudSim traffic?
Answer: Resetting/programming the product will not affect the remaining data balance. However, in case of a FOTA upgrade using CloudSIM data, it will consume the available data. Otherwise, it will not be affected by these actions.
